GENERAL QUARTERS is SKY MESA‘s leading money winner with earnings of $1,226,655. A dual G1 stakes winner, GENERAL QUARTERS won graded stakes on dirt, turf and synthetic, Toyota Blue Grass S.-G1, Woodford Reserve Turf Classic S.-G1, Sam F. Davis S.-G3 and earned Triple Digit Speed Figures 14 times. While racing GENERAL QUARTERS defeated six-time champion Wise Dan, multiple G1 millionaires Court Vision and Pioneerof the Nile, sire of Triple Crown winner American Pharoah.

SHADES OF NIGHT raced exclusively in NY and FL. In his first race on turf he hooked up with the unraced Yoshida, 4th in the 2018 Breeders’ Cup Classic-G1. Yoshida was second that day, with eventual Graded stakes placed Adonis Creed in third while SHADES OF NIGHT closed well in fifth. Attempting turf again in his final career start SHADES OF NIGHT dug in gamely refusing to relinquish control to win the 1 1/16 mile maiden special weight at Gulfstream.

Rock Hard Ten, Sire of Block Onyx and Welcome Aboard Who Takes on Cavorting in Ruffian Stakes

Stakes winner Welcome Aboard (pictured), now under new ownership sticks with trainer Eric Reed to take on Test S. (gr. I) winner Cavorting. A Grade 1-winning sprinter last year at age 3, Cavorting will try to stretch out to a mile in Saturday’s Grade 2, $250,000 Ruffian Stakes at Belmont.

Welcome Aboard has won at one mile in stakes company, coming five wide into the stretch full of run to win the Opelousas S. last July.
Others entered include Carrumba, winner of the Grade 3 Top Flight at Aqueduct; Include Betty, the winner of the Grade 1 Mother Goose here last year; Calamity Kate and Spelling Again.

Junior Alvarado picks up the mount on Welcome Aboard and trainer Eric Reed is on a hot streak with 8 starts, 2 wins, 1 second, 3 thirds in the last seven days.
