Introducing the first and only son of champion UNCLE MO in Florida: UNCLE VINNY, a Grade 3 stakes winner and earner of $222,500. Bloodstock analyst Alan Porter recently commented on UNCLE MO as “the hottest young sire in the U.S.” UNCLE MO sired champion two-year-old and Kentucky Derby-G1 winner NYQUIST from his first crop along with 24 other stakes winners. With yearlings commanding over $1-million, UNCLE MO is making his mark year after year. From his first four crops of racing age UNCLE MO has sired 65 stakes horses, 20 graded stakes winners and the winners of over $31-million.
UNCLE VINNY won $224,500 over three seasons on the track. A Starlight Racing $175,000 yearling purchase UNCLE VINNY won his two-year-old racing debut at Belmont in May by 4 ½ lengths in :58 3/5, drawing off down the lane. UNCLE VINNY would go on to win Saratoga’s Sanford S.-G3 and finish 3rd in the Hopeful S.-G1, defeating eventual multiple graded stakes winner TOM’S READY.
At 3, UNCLE VINNY ran twice at Monmouth finishing 2nd in an allowance race and 3rd in the Long Branch S. On the board in Saratoga’s Amsterdam S.-G2, UNCLE VINNY retired in 2017 after making one start at 4. Trainer Todd Pletcher spoke recently about UNCLE VINNY, “he was well balanced, correct and very precocious, as well as demonstrating a good turn of foot.”
UNCLE VINNY out of the stakes winning mare AREALHOTLOVER, by UNTUTTABLE, and is a half-brother to stakes winner LEGAL LAURA ($217,450), and Desert Vixen S. runner-up Lu Lu Laura. Second dam HOT ROD HELEN is a half-sister to PLEASANT DILEMMA ($262,296), LYNN’S A DREAM ($225,301) PHILADREAM ($139,245, sire).
